What a fantastic service. I ordered some corporate gifts and had one of them sent to myself to experience what the package looked like. Something was missing, but that turned out to have been my own mistake. I overlooked this when ordering.Although the other packages were already packed and ready for shipment, they were adjusted in consultation with Jurien and still sent as I would have liked. This shows that Food & Wood really cares about the customers. Thank you for that.

Pamela thought extensively in advance so she was perfectly prepared. The quality of both service and food was very good! For our wedding we had delicious and super beautifully prepared drinks boards, exactly to our liking! In addition, we had asked if Food & Wood would also take care of the preparation of our cake table. This too was super well done! Afterwards they neatly packed all the leftovers so we could still enjoy them in the evening, perfect! Unfortunately we do not (yet) have a picture of the drinks boards when they were served, only of the neatly served leftovers and the cake table.

Super company, the delivery guy reported twice that nobody was home (without being there) and the package was returned to sender. Food & Wood immediately sent a new package and fortunately the delivery guy did arrive. Thanks to the quick action of Food & Wood I still got the birthday present on time. Really top service! Can recommend Food & Wood to everyone.

I gave the Primavera Borrelplank to my sister and her boyfriend, including the free Pinot Grigio wine they got for free with the monthly promotion and they loved it. The description with it was perfect for putting the board together! 😀

Last week was National Week Without Meat and of course we as an organization also participated. Colleagues could take part in a knowledge quiz for a chance to win a vegetarian drinks box. In the end we had 6 lucky winners. Pamela likes to think along with you in terms of possibilities and is very service-oriented. I can definitely recommend the drinks box. For my colleagues it was really a gift.

Allergens in the Partybox

In the modern catering world, it is essential to pay attention to allergens, especially when it comes to putting together a Partybox. Many people have specific food allergies that can cause serious health problems. Here we will discuss some of the most common allergens in the Partybox, as well as tips for those who need to ensure that they can safely enjoy their dishes.

Common Allergens

Gluten

Gluten is a protein found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. For people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, consuming gluten can lead to serious digestive problems. It is therefore important to offer gluten-free options, such as:

  • Gluten free crackers: For example Rude Health Rice Cakes or Schär Crackers.
  • Gluten free pasta: Brands such as Bionaturae or Barilla offer a good selection.

Nuts

Nuts are a common allergen and can appear in various forms in snacks and dishes. It is important to always check for traces of nuts. Some products to pay attention to are:

  • Salted nut mixes: Take for example Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars which may contain nuts.
  • Peanut butter: Products such as Skippy and Jif are popular, but of course contain peanuts.

Dairy

For those with lactose intolerance or a milk allergy, there should be awareness of dairy products. Fortunately, there are more and more alternatives available, such as:

  • Plant-based milk: Look at brands like Almond Breeze or Oatly for courageous options.
  • Dairy free cheese: Violife and Daiya offer flavors without dairy.

Eggs

Eggs are another common allergen found in many baked goods and snacks. For vegans or those with egg allergies, there are several alternatives such as:

  • Egg replacers: Products such as Just Egg or homemade flaxseed or chia seed egg replacers.
  • Eggless baking mixes: Brands such as Bob's Red Mill offer mixes that do not require eggs.

Soy

Soy is commonly found in many processed foods, including soy sauce and tofu. For those allergic to soy, here are some alternatives and products to watch out for:

  • Coconut Aminos: A popular alternative to soy sauce, often used in various cuisines.
  • Tofu-free alternatives: Tempeh can also be problematic, so it is good to be careful with such products.

Tips for Checking Allergens in the Partybox

  1. Read the labels carefully: It is crucial to thoroughly check the ingredients list of each product. Look for terms that may contain allergens, such as 'may contain traces of…'.
  2. Ask about allergen-free options: Inquire whether there are specific allergen-free products in the Partybox. Companies such as Happy Pear and Greenheart Organic Farms often offer these options.
  3. Communicate with guests: Let guests know what allergens may be present in the Partybox. Using an allergen card can be helpful.
  4. Prepare a separate Party Box: If possible, create a separate Party Box for guests with allergies to avoid cross-contamination.

Therefore, it is of great importance for both Partybox developers and guests to be aware of these allergens. Safety and health are paramount when organizing any festive occasion. With the right precautions, everyone can enjoy a delicious meal without worrying.

How to deal with allergies?

Taking allergies into account is crucial when organizing events and choosing the right Partybox. Below we offer practical tips and guidelines for dealing effectively with allergies.

Contact Customer Service

One of the first steps you should take when planning your order is to contact Food and Wood customer service. Here are some questions and things to look out for:

  • Identify Allergens: Please ask specifically about the allergens included in the Partybox. This includes nuts, gluten, dairy or other common allergies.
  • Adjustments Options: Ask if there are any options to adapt dishes or offer substitutes for guests with specific allergies.
  • Ingredients list: Request a detailed ingredients list for each dish in the Partybox.

Communicating with Guests

Open communication with your guests about their allergies is essential. This will ensure that everyone feels comfortable during the event. Here are some tips to get this right:

  • Early Information: Ask your guests about their allergies in advance. This can be easily done via an invitation, asking them to share their dietary restrictions.
  • Specific Instructions: Let your guests know that they can pass on any allergies so that you can take this into account when making the final order.
  • Clear Labeling: Make sure dishes are clearly labeled during the event so guests with allergies can quickly identify what they can and cannot eat.

Examples of Common Allergies and Their Management

Below is a list of common allergies and how to deal with them when putting together your Partybox:

  • Nut allergy:
    • Choose nut-free snacks, such as popcorn or vegetable chips.
    • Communicate that you have not used nuts in the dishes.
  • Gluten allergy (Celiac disease):
    • Opt for gluten-free options like quinoa salads or rice dishes.
    • Brands such as Glutino and Schar offer excellent gluten-free products.
  • Dairy allergy:
    • Avoid dairy dishes and opt for plant-based alternatives, such as almond milk or coconut yogurt.
    • Brands like Alpro and So Delicious have a variety of dairy alternatives.

Helpful Tips for an Allergy-Friendly Event

  • Keep to individual portions: Consider offering individual portions so guests can manage their own quantities without the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Offer choice: Always make sure there are multiple options for guests with allergies so they can enjoy the meal too.
  • Inform the staff: If you hire staff for the event, make sure they are aware of your guests' allergies and how to handle them.

Comparison of Products and Options

Below is a handy comparison chart of some popular allergy-friendly products and brands:

Type of Allergy Suitable Product Brands/Options
Nut allergy Nut Free Snacks Popcorn, vegetable chips
Gluten allergy Gluten free snacks Glutinous, Schar, quinoa
Dairy allergy Plant-based alternatives Alpro, So Delicious, coconut

By following these guidelines and tips, you can create a safe and enjoyable experience for all of your guests, regardless of their dietary restrictions.

Alternatives for people with allergies

When hosting events such as birthdays, weddings or other celebrations, it is essential to consider the diverse food allergies of guests. Offering safe and tasty alternatives is crucial for an inclusive experience. In this section, we discuss some practical alternatives and products to ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves, regardless of their allergies.

Alternatives for Common Allergies

Gluten intolerance

People with gluten intolerance or disease should have gluten-free options available. This may mean choosing products from brands such as:

  • Dab: This brand offers a variety of gluten-free breads and cookies that are perfect for parties. Their gluten-free pizza is also a popular choice.
  • Bfree: This brand has delicious gluten-free wraps that are ideal for making snacks or sandwiches.

Milk allergies

For guests with a milk allergy, there are several alternatives available. Some recommended products are:

  • Alpro: Their plant-based alternatives to yoghurt and milk are tasty and diverse. Alpro also offers soya and almond milk.
  • Oatly: Oatly is famous for its oat drink, which is an excellent substitute for milk in coffee or desserts.

Nut allergies

Avoiding nuts can be a challenge, especially since many snack foods contain nuts. Instead, opt for:

  • SunButter: This is a great nut-free alternative spread made from sunflower seeds and is perfect for spreading on bread or as a dip.
  • Rice Cakes: Made from rice and naturally nut-free, they're a safe and versatile option for serving dip or spread.

Adjustments to the Partybox

Flexible Menu Options

It is advisable to take a flexible approach when putting together a Partybox. Consider offering ‘build your own’ stations, where guests can choose their favourite ingredients. This prevents cross-contamination and ensures that guests with allergies can decide for themselves what they do or do not want to consume.

  • Salad bar: Provide a variety of vegetables, proteins (such as grilled chicken or chickpeas), and dressings that are free of common allergens.
  • Wrap station: Offer gluten-free wraps, various spreads and fillings, and make sure they are free of nuts and dairy products.

The Importance of Safe Options

For many guests, misjudging ingredients can have serious health consequences. Therefore, it is crucial to:

  • Clear labeling: Make sure all items on the menu are clearly labeled with regard to their allergens. For example: “Contains Milk” or “Gluten Free.”
  • Communication: Inform guests of available allergy-friendly options prior to the event. This will allow them to prepare and feel confident in their choices.

By considering these alternatives and tips, your events can not only be enjoyable for everyone, but also safe and satisfying in terms of food choices. When planning a Partybox or any other party, it is important to respect the needs of all your guests and give them the opportunity to enjoy themselves without worry.

Conclusion: Insight into allergens in the Partybox

In conclusion, it is essential to be aware of the allergens in the Partybox from Food and Wood. You should always consult the ingredients list and contact customer service if anything is unclear. By taking these precautions, you contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests during the party.
